Christopher Logan’s book, dr.a.g, is jam-packed with beautiful photography from some top photographers in the world.

And the subjects, some of the best known drag performers, fill the pages.

Fans of RuPaul’s Drag Race will see some of their favourites from the past seasons including Courtney Act (dressed as a surgeon), Chad Michaels, Roxxxy Andrews, Detox, Akashia, Tammie Brown, Shannel, Venus D’Lite, Nina Flowers, Bebe Zahara Benet, Jujubee, Ongina and Raja.

But there are plenty of other iconic queens inside the book, too. Lady Bunny with her hair piled high, Miss Coco Peru, Jackie Beat, Hedda Lettuce, as well as Marilyn Monroe illusionist Jimmy James (though he has now retired this act).

The photographers are some well known names too. Drag fans will recognise the work of Magnus Hastings and Mike Ruiz, but the images from the other contributors are just as beautiful and interesting.

There’s glam, there’s humour, there’s camp. Basically, everything you could want from a drag photography book.

Even for those who aren’t completely obsessed with drag and Drag Race the book is so visually stimulating that just looking at it as an art or photography book makes it worth it.

The makeup and hair styling is second to none, something which was always expected, as are the costumes.

You can flick through the pages quickly, looking at every photo or spend time studying each page. Spend as much time as you want looking through and the experience will be different, each time noticing something different.

As a drag fan, the book is a must. And it’s a must for fans of good photography, too.
